Autumn Styling
Key Looks and Trends

This autumn season brings together an obscure mix of love it or hate it fashion. With many of the trends appealing to the fashion rebel inside of you.

Once a key fashion rebel statement, now moving into mainstream fashion this autumn, is the New Goth. This look ??embraces dark glamour with feminine touches, and if you had not already guessed it black rules! A Key garment to this look is the little black dress, in either frothy lace or floaty chiffon with feminine ruffles and bows. Skinny leather trousers teemed with a tux jacket or collarless coat and worn with platform killer heels ooze sexiness. Full skirts or net skirts with fishnet tights and kinky lace up boots finished off with a statement necklace. What about a fascinator hat for that over the top glamerous look

The Punk micro trend also makes a rebellious appearance, however you can forget about ridiculous hair, and Doc Martins, for 2008 this look has a sassy edge. Skinny leather trousers, teemed with studded & embellished tops, extreme heels rule and finally accessorised with heavy metal attitude necklaces. The punk look also loves clashing patterned texture tights with tartan skirts or jackets.

Sculptural tailoring is the new minimalist look, where the clothes are defined by simple statement shapes. Oversize silhouettes dictate the tailoring, with slouchy harem pants or peg cropped trousers, in heritage fabrics such as tweed, are teemed with a dramatic white or oversize shirt. Or worn vice versa for an evening look, with skinny tailored trousers and a voluminous shirt. Trousers dominate this boyish look, while navy is the chic new alternative to black, other colours are hues of aubergine and shades of grey.

The 70’s retro look appears noticeably in jeans and trousers, with high waisted wide flares. Worn with lace-up boot shoes, a flat cap and silk patterned scarf tied around the neck. For those of you seeking less subdued shades, colour is a must in this look.

The satchel is the hottest new bag trend, oversized slouchy and mini size worn either across the shoulder or attached to the waist on a belt. The casual clutch and the big shopper bags from the previous season still feature on the catwalks.

Whatever fashion tribe you are from, whether fashion rebel or fashion follower, the two can work in harmony this season.
