Get green and weed free.

With all the reports in the media of the property market slowing down, it seems that more of us will be keeping our current homes and living with what we already have.

For many, this can mean a lawn full of weeds, yellow grass and bare patches. The majority of us want a lovely lawn; its just getting it that is the problem!

Like everything that is living, getting a healthy lawn does not happen overnight. However with a little tender loving care and the right know how, your lawn could become your best friend!

All grass needs is sunlight, nutrients, air and water to be happy. But beware, weeds will fight for all of these and take them from your grass. Thatch in a lawn will help moss take control and push out your grass. Then there are bugs, leatherjackets and chafer grubs which cause devastation and diseases which can make lawns unsightly.

Top Lawn Care Tips:

If you have any bare patches, start to think about re-seeding the areas in the coming couple of months once anyfrosts have gone.
Also, remember the golden rule when cutting a lawn. Never take off more than one-third of the leaf at any time and make sure your lawnmower blade is sharp. Try and keep your grass at least one inch long as this will make it stronger and look better.
A good feed is essential when creating a healthy lawn and should be applied at the recommended times. Using the wrong feed at the wrong time, or over-dosing can cause “burning” of your lawn.
Get to work on those weeds - some are more difficult than others to eradicate. By removing them you get rid of the main competitor to grass.
