Discover 7 Seat Comfort
The current range of vehicles on display at Guy Salmon Land Rover in Wakefield has something to offer every driver - by combining a unique set of attributes from car-like handling to unrivalled luxury with peerless off-road performance.
The Land Rover Discovery 3 is a premium SUV that offers a class-leading breadth of capability, innovative user-friendly technology, distinctive design and a spacious interior that can comfortably accommodate up to seven adults.
“The Discovery 3 is a true Land Rover”, comments dealer principal Neil Clay. “Its purpose and conviction are evident from its clean design and versatility and, like all Land Rovers, it offers an outstanding driving experience great on-road and best-in-class off it.”
The Discovery 3 features sophisticated technologies including Land Rover’s patented Terrain ResponseTM system, which optimises driveability and comfort whilst maximising traction. Terrain ResponseTM enables drivers to choose from one of five terrain settings via a rotary switch on the centre console.

A general driving programme, plus a ‘grass/gravel/snow’ setting for slippery conditions and three special off-road modes - ‘mud/ruts, sand, and rock crawl’, optimise the settings of the vehicle’s traction aids help drivers get the best from their vehicle, whatever the conditions.
At the top-of the-range the Discovery 3 features a specially developed 4.4-litre version of Jaguar’s acclaimed V8 petrol engine featuring more torque, enhanced dust and water-proofing and revised breathing. This enables it to wade rivers and run at acute angles but also offer dynamic on-road performance to drivers.
Two further engine options are available: Land Rover’s 2.7-litre V6 common rail turbodiesel unit using variable geometry turbocharging and a 4.0-litre V8 petrol unit. The two petrol derivatives are matched to a six-speed automatic ‘intelligent shift’ transmission which is optional on diesel models.
Discovery’s eye-catching exterior is distinctively Land Rover geometric, minimalist and modern and couldn’t be confused with anything else.
The design is derived from its capability, with everything being done for a reason for example its deep glazing creates an airy feel and provides a far better view in order to improving the cabin environment for both driver and passengers.
Unique Land Rover design cues include: bold, geometric vertical and horizontal elements; a stepped roof (to boost headroom); asymmetric tailgate (to reduce load height and ‘reach-in’ distance); and the use of an air intake on only one side of the body.
Intelligent design also delivers exceptional interior space, comfort and flexibility. The vehicle’s spacious cabin is packed with clever stowage locations and can be specified with either five or seven seats.
Discovery 3 drivers benefit from Land Rover’s trademark ‘command’ driving position, whilst six further adult passengers can be accommodated in its comfortable stadium seating which places each row progressively higher than the seats in front.
The most recent edition to the Discovery 3 line-up is the Metropolis LE a limited edition vehicle that combines the model’s class-leading practicality with genuine luxury making it the highest specification Discovery 3 ever produced.
Neil added: “Discovery 3 offers active, style conscious drivers the best of both worlds a versatile visual statement that doesn’t compromise on comfort. The Metropolis LE then takes this class-leading performance and amplifies it.”
