Scape House Inn
We’ve all heard the phrase ‘a room with a view’. What we don’t normally get is ‘a meal with a view’.
Visit the Scape House Inn, Huddersfield, and that’s exactly what diners get - a panoramic vista of the whole of the Colne Valley to enjoy with a meal. Drink in the magnificent views while you choose from the great new menu introduced by owners Stewart and Matthew who took over the reins of this popular local pub earlier this year.
As experienced pub hosts - with another hostelry in the Midlands - they have introduced a new menu, carried out a refurbishment and organise great regular themed evenings such as quiz nights etc.
On the night a friend and I visited the Scape House Inn and Scapegoat Hill we were not only treated to a nightime view over a clear Colne Valley but also a late Bonfire Night firework display which lit up the skies in spectacular fashion.
Distracted slightly by the view, we did turn our attention to the menu after ordering a bottle of House Red, a Californian Merlot called Turner Road, and struggled to choose from the compact but innovative menu. As well as a selection of starters, the Scape House Inn also offers what it calls ‘grazing boards’ to share and get a meal under way.
