Volare at Skelmanthorpe
 Visiting Volare, Skelmanthorpe’s great little restaurant, is a bit like visiting an old friend you’ve known for years.
You’re assured of a warm welcome, you immediately feel at home and there’s certainly no need to stand on ceremony.
A friend and I recently enjoyed a Friday night out at Volare – arriving at 7pm we found the restaurant filling up nicely with like-minded people who wanted to taste the excellent food and enjoy the convivial atmosphere.
Established in 1997 Volare Mediterranean Restaurant, located on the main road through Skelmanthorpe, has recently celebrated its 10th birthday.
Founded, and still managed, by husband and wife team Martin Corless and Nicola Paterson, Volare maintains a high level of customer service and a friendly atmosphere that you can’t ever achieve from a company owned business.
Each staff member works alongside one of the owners so standards rarely slip, yet the atmosphere remains friendly.

Whichever direction you travel from to Volare, you’re accompanied by rolling green Yorkshire hills and spectacular countryside. Situated in this large country village, Skelmanthorpe is central to Holmfirth, Barnsley, Wakefield, Huddersfield and it’s only a 20-minute car journey from Leeds (Junction 39, M1, follow Denby Dale signs) on a good traffic day.
