Dining Out at The Butchers Arms
Imagine the scene: a picture perfect country pub/restaurant early on a Friday evening where the atmosphere is buzzing, great beers are flowing and fabulous food is being produced by Yorkshire’s top chef.
 Since award-winning chef Timothy Bilton took over the Butcher’s Arms in the Holme Valley village of Hepworth last September, this pub/restaurant has enjoyed a renaissance. Word has spread about Tim’s expertise and diners are flocking to enjoy food from the Yorkshire Professional Chef of the Year.
Diners in Holme Valley and beyond are now benefitting from Tim’s experience and the menu at the Butcher’s Arms really is quite a revelation.
Timothy and his team always try to source ingredients from local and regional suppliers, and looking at the menu, it was clear to see the strong Yorkshire influence. With a great wine list to accompany meals and a choice of either the a la carte or Plat Du Jour menu, we were spoilt for choice.

Deciding eventually on starters of Warm Bread and Things along with Crispy Polenta coated Goat’s Cheese with Chilli Jam, we both sat back and awaited our meal with great anticipation. Despite only being 6.30pm, the restaurant was already filling up and tables were taken all evening.
